Months have passed...
Time moves ever forward ....

and covid19 still rages across my city, my country, my world.

So I focus on the little things as I take each day, one at a time, as it comes.
I am still stitching here.

It is soothing to be creating something with my hands.

And moments scattered in-between, I make masks.

I totally enjoyed the few days spent there earlier this summer with my family.

On another chilly morning look what I found on my back step.

Can you see it?  

If you look very closely (hurry as they are already melting), you may spy ... evidence of SNOW in Houston (or is it just a bit of frozen morning dew?)

Wait a minute ...  Look over here, on the chair ....

It's more snow, right?

Meanwhile, just a few miles north of here ...

the icicles keep growing ...

and the snow keeps falling.

I think I will have another hot cuppa coffee ....

Snow Day!

Schools are closed today.  We are having a rare Snow Day in Houston -- this is the 'snow' I found in my back yard.  Here I am....in the snow?.....

Yes, the winter in Houston is mild, even during an extreme cold spell.  Note:  there are some ice crystals on the leaves (that are still falling - yes, in January!) and lovely new growth --weeds, grass, what-have-you. 

Enjoying the extra day off from school, staying toasty warm and hope all of you are too!

It is Winter across most of the country, but here in my back yard, it is still Fall.

Hello there!

Where does the time fly too?  I cannot believe so many days, weeks (OK - months!) have passed since my last post.  Do you wonder what I have been up to?

It is rather simple - I've been consumed with many busy days with my Toddler class.  Here are three favorites from this year's fun projects:

Our classroom sukkah was decorated with toddler fruit last fall.

Twelve toddler interpretations of turkeys are from Thanksgiving time.

I love the variety of their vision.  By the way, the upside-down turkey is in the original orientation as chosen by its artist.

Rodeo season includes cow-branding onto bandanas and marble-rolling to create faux-leather cowboy boots.

I've got cold toes

but the cold feels so good 

and I wish I were there again

now.

Summer heat seems so very long ago.

Did we really have 100 degree highs 

day after day after day?  

and a severe drought? 

and wild fires raging nearby?  

Yes, 

but all that is in the past now 

and 

today is a gorgeous fall day ... with rain coming ... soon ....

I am a fan of Lynn Krawczyk and her "Where I Stand" series and this is my version (and first attempt) of borrowing her idea.  (Thank you for the inspiration Lynn!) 

... Will this be the beginning or do I lack the dedication, time, energy, etc. to do this every week (taking photos, writing thoughts, then remembering to post these photos and thoughts every week?  I do not know the answer yet  ...  be patient as I dabble with this new element I hope/plan/want to add to my blog.
